About Twin Rivers Crisis Center
Twin Rivers Women's Center is a faith-based addiction recovery community for women over the age of 18 in Yuba City, California. They are part of the Teen Challenge group of centers that work with those in the community who want to be free from addictions. You’ll stay at the center for 12 to 18 months. They’ve found this to be an optimal length of time for healing and gaining the skills you need for sober living.
You’ll live in a home in a suburban area with others who are facing similar challenges. Yuba City is a farming community, and I like that you’ll be welcomed into a secure, loving, down-to-earth environment.
Practical Support for Recovery in Sutter County
Twin Rivers focuses on recovering from chemical dependence through abstinence with the support of a loving community. They tackle addiction by working to restore your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. You’ll find relief from the pain caused by trauma.
They use a mentoring structure to give you someone who checks in on you and offers advice and guidance. They also focus on addiction education to help you understand how substances affect your mind and body. You’ll learn life skills to help you establish a life for yourself and your family after you’ve completed treatment. What stood out to me is that you’ll also work on your social skills, which you get to practice while living as part of a recovery community. Plus there’s vocational training to equip you for finding and keeping a job.
