Situated on 488 scenic acres in Winthrop, Maine, Adult and Teen Challenge -- Maine Men's Center is a nonprofit faith based drug and alcohol treatment center serving adult men and teenage boys. The program combines practical vocational training with Christian teachings to help clients discover and achieve a life free of addiction rooted in submission, discipline, and obedience. They offer long term inpatient residential care, individual counseling, group counseling, spiritual education, vocational training, life and coping skill development, and additional spiritual services.
The residential program lasts between 10 and 12 months and can serve up to 20 clients. As a a faith based facility, acceptance of Christian principles and teachings is fundamental to treatment at the Maine Men's Center. Adult and Teen Challenge Maine Men's Center does not turn clients away due to an inability to pay. They will work with clients on alternative payment plans to ensure no one is turned away due to a lack of finances.
