About Los Angeles Teen Challenge
Teen Challenge focuses on bringing healing to teenagers and adult men and women struggling with addiction in eight locations around southern and central California counties. They are a Christian, faith based residential program that works to help individuals make a recovery that is long lasting.
Christian Faith Based Rehab at No Cost
I think it’s important to note that the program is open to diverse backgrounds and different beliefs, but the program itself is rooted in Christian values. The program is made possible by donations, funding, and volunteer efforts in order to offer services at no cost to you.
Graduates and families have found the environment to be a place of growth and renewal, finding long term sobriety and a stronger sense of purpose. I think seeing alumni share their positive experiences can add value to the treatment program and how it can shape future experiences.
A Holistic Approach to Treatment
The program takes a holistic approach to incorporate spiritual, emotional, and practical life skills. Typically you will stay for 12 to 18 months in dorm style housing. These include common areas for fellowship, dining, and worship. I think the fact that this is a longer program may provide clients with the stronger foundation they need for lifelong recovery.
There are also classrooms where biblical study, life skills training, and group meetings will take place. For recreational activities, there are spots outside where you can find support and go to the on site chapel.
Building Routines and Structure That Support Sobriety
In addition to individual and group therapy sessions, Teen Challenges focuses on daily structure to help you build towards recovery. This includes community living and making positive connections with peers. Once you’ve completed the main bulk of treatment, you can work with Teen Challenge to explore transitional housing options.
