One thing I like about this location that I wish we saw more of is support for the children of clients. Beds were available for young children so they could reunite or continue to live with their parents during the treatment/recovery process.
Besides the obvious benefits, parents received direct experience balancing their responsibilities toward their children and families with sobriety before returning home so they can work out any difficulties while still in the program.
Pregnant/Postpartum Support
Again, this is something I wish we’d see more of in substance use disorder treatment programs: sober living support for pregnant and postpartum women. Support extended beyond the client’s needs to address their child’s healthcare and wellbeing.
