About Oklahoma Safety Center

The Oklahoma Safety Center (OSC) is an outpatient treatment facility that also works with the state judicial system for people facing DUIs or substance abuse offenses that’s located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In particular, this organization is most effective for people that have mild addiction and are first offenders for criminal action.

While there are outpatient services, this facility is best reserved for people with less severe addiction since there are no detox or intervention services provided. It’s in the metropolitan center close to Regency Park

An Emphasis on Education and Prevention

OSC works as an intermediary solution to prevent people facing DUIs or substance abuse criminal charges from facing harsher penalties such as jail time, license revocation, and financial fines. As such, I discovered that most of the programs prioritize an abstinence approach to treatment which includes group counseling or even proven methodologies like the 12 Step program. In particular, the best candidates for this facility are those with a very low risk of relapse and aren’t struggling with active or severe addiction to either alcohol or drugs.

Note that you’ll be required to attend either three sessions for a total of 10 hours for DUIs or drug abstinence courses, or a full course with a total of 24 hours for Alcohol/Drug Substance Abuse Courses.

Referral Support When You Need It

While OSC doesn’t provide the more intensive substance use disorder treatment that you would see at more comprehensive facilities, they can refer you if you’re in active addiction or want more immersive counseling or treatment solutions such as medication assisted treatment or detox.

Additionally, I noticed this is not a solution for people who would benefit from dual diagnosis care as this is a prevention and reduction program aimed at rehabilitating people and helping them preserve their autonomy and driver’s licenses.

This facility accepts most insurance, IHS/Tribal/Urban (ITU) funds, and cash or self payment options.
