About State of Grace Counseling

State of Grace Professional Counseling is a psychiatric counseling facility located in Pueblo, Colorado. They treat substance use disorder and alcohol use disorder, as well as other mental health issues. They are a self-pay counseling center.

Serving Clients in the Justice System

The therapists here focus on clients who have been court-ordered into treatment due to a drug-related crime. Kids who are caught with substances underage are often required to take classes.

They offer instruction for kids who have been convicted of drug charges. The trained instructors will teach kids about the effects of substances on their decision-making ability. They also teach refusal skills and encourage kids to build self-esteem. Classes are anywhere from 8 to 20 hours, depending on the severity of the charges.

Both adults and adolescents must take classes and go to therapy when they have been convicted of driving under the influence (DUI). You will find both DUI Level II education and
DUI Level II 4 Plus classes here. The plus program is for people who have four or more DUI charges.

Emphasizing Victim Empathy

I love the fact that they put an emphasis on the effects that drug-related accidents have on the victims. They teach victim empathy and have panels where you will hear from victims and their families. They also offer moral reconation therapy (MRT) where people are taught to take the effects of drug use and other negative behaviors on other people.

I also like the relapse prevention programs that they have. They even offer a Stay Quit program for former cigarette smokers.
