About Star View Children and Family Services

Stars Behavioral Health Group has many community services throughout California which caters to different needs such as substance use and mental health treatment, crisis response, and educational opportunities. Treatment helps to serve children, young adults, and families. The organization supports the “whole person” and works to empower youth and their families. They have an office in Compton, California.

Former clients found that mental health treatment had a positive effect on their emotional wellbeing. One former client writes, “I can call anyone anytime. They don’t give up on me.” Families report that there is more meaningful support during tough transitions and improved communication. I think it’s valuable to hear perspectives from clients who have had positive experiences with the organization.

Crisis Centers for Immediate Care

For individuals with urgent mental health needs, there are several crisis centers that provide immediate access to resources. You can walk in and receive resources to transition into the next level of care, and receive tools to help enter back into the community. These provide an alternative to inpatient hospitalization and emergency rooms. Services are available twenty four hours, seven days a week without an appointment to ensure that you can receive help at any time.

TEAMMATES for Teens

I’m really impressed by their TEAMMATES program for adolescents and young people. They assist youths as young as 12 who are caught up in the court system or need help with psychological and mental health issues. They provide mentors, crisis interventions, and health screenings within your neighborhood. That way, they assist at-risk youths before any issues escalate.

Addiction Treatment Programs

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

When a person is struggling with addiction, their actions and emotions may not be rational. Cognitive behavioral therapy in California helps individuals understand better why they feel and act certain ways and how those emotions and actions can lead to substance abuse.

Teen & Adolescent Program

Typically, a young adult program in California can guide individuals from detox, through initial treatment, and extends to aftercare. Treatment gives young adults what they need to reset their lives and move to the next stage of life free from addiction.

Levels of Care

Outpatient Rehab

When you choose outpatient rehab in California, you will meet with a counselor and attend support group meetings. The focus will be on restructuring attitudes and thoughts to reduce cravings and develop skills to prevent relapse. The length of time in outpatient rehab varies by individual, based on their recovery needs.

Dual Diagnosis & Mental Health

When you have a co-occurring disorder, it is essential to treat both your addiction and the mental health disorder. California dual diagnosis treatment provides this type of multidisciplinary approach, for improved recovery outcomes.
