About Stanislaus County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services

Stanislaus County Behavioral Health’s Genesis Narcotic Replacement Treatment (NRT) is a medically supervised methadone clinic that offers maintenance and detox services in Modesto, California. Located along Scenic Drive in East Modesto, this county-run outpatient clinic promotes acceptance, support and hope for those facing opioid use challenges. It’s just a few blocks southwest of Monterosso Park and about two miles east of both the McHenry Mansion and the El Viejo Post Office.

Genesis NRT is part of a county-wide effort to reduce opioid dependence, prevent overdose and support long-term recovery through evidence-based care. It is structured within a broader continuum of care, fully integrated into Stanislaus County’s Behavioral Health system. The program supports opioid-dependent adolescents and adults facing a range of circumstances, including homelessness, co-occurring mental health conditions and intravenous drug use.

Opioid Detox and Medication-Supported Recovery

Opioid recovery at Genesis typically begins with medically supervised detox following intake assessment. This short-term procedure lets you safely cleanse opioid-related toxins from your system with the support of medical professionals. These experts may administer FDA-approved meds to ensure your withdrawal is comfortable and painless.

Following stabilization, you’ll transition to maintenance treatment for long-term abstinence and recovery.
During this phase, you’ll receive daily methadone doses that are carefully adjusted to ease cravings and support daily life without causing a high. Regular counseling, urine screenings and case coordination help address root causes and strengthen long-term recovery.

Accessible Care Services

Tailored support may be available for pregnant and postpartum women, as well as individuals living with HIV/AIDS who are also navigating opioid use challenges. I appreciate that they offer bilingual services in English and Spanish to ensure culturally responsive support for diverse communities.

I also like that they accept Medi-Cal, as this helps reduce financial barriers to opioid addiction recovery, especially for the medically indigent. In addition, the program provides Naloxone distribution and education to help prevent overdose and empower individuals and families with life-saving tools.

Metropolitan Area

Addiction treatment in the metro area benefits clients by offering seamless connections from the city, around the state, and those seeking out-of-state treatment. Another benefit of attending a metro area drug rehab is that you’re close to major airports and ground transportation services.

Business Center

Business centers are a preferred amenity in many mental health and addiction recovery facilities and typically feature secure, high-speed internet, computer stations, printers, and related business technologies. Business centers are designed to enable professionals and students to continue to participate in work or school activities without leaving the treatment facility.

The length of time in outpatient rehab varies by individual, based on their recovery needs.
