About Spectrum Health Systems, Inc.

Spectrum Health Systems Outpatient Treatment is a part of the largest provider of New England’s substance abuse treatment programs. Spectrum Health Systems offers a comprehensive continuum of care for adults struggling with addiction issues. At this location in Waltham, Massachusetts, you’ll find outpatient addiction counseling paired with medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Increase Motivation and Heal From Addiction

When you choose to attend treatment at Spectrum Health Systems, licensed clinicians will help you increase your motivation and lead you through active participation therapy sessions. Therapy will be individual and group sessions and will cover topics like overdose and relapse prevention skills. I found that the other lectures and workshops will help you learn about cravings, anger management, parenting skills, and interpersonal relationships. You’ll receive a continuing care plan while attending treatment to ensure a smooth transition when you finish the program.

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) includes two groups and one brief individual therapy session each day. The minimum time spent in this program is three weeks. Family sessions are added to this program to make it a holistic treatment experience.

Rapid Access to Medications and Counseling for Recovery

One important thing I wanted to note about Spectrum is that they offer same-day admission for the opioid treatment program. You must be 12 hours drug-free before being admitted. You’ll receive a clinical assessment and eval and medical monitoring.

In MAT, you’ll receive an individualized treatment plan with counseling and psychoeducation. Vivitrol and methadone are used to help with uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms and to reduce drug cravings.

Former clients mention that they didn’t have the best experiences with staff at Spectrum Health Systems. Other people mentioned that the clinic is clean and that they appreciated short wait times. It’s also cool that they’re within driving distance to local amenities like Cat Rock Park where you can stretch your legs for a bit.

Residential Setting

Residential drug rehab provides the comforts of home with the therapeutic support needed to successfully recover. Benefits of an inpatient program include increased safety, a higher success rate, and the time and distance given to focus on recovery. Residential drug rehabs are often the preferred method of treatment, as they can be tailored to meet specific needs, offer focused therapeutic care, and provide the necessary tools to sustain recovery.

Private Rooms

In order to maintain a sense of autonomy, many private rehab facilities offer clients the ability to choose their own private rooms. The privacy and personal space ensure that the recovery process is as comfortable as possible.

Levels of Care

Outpatient Rehab

Massachusetts outpatient rehab does not have a defined timeline. The program is tailored to meet your recovery needs, and may last 90 days or a year or more. During this time, you will attend therapy sessions and support group meetings, for ongoing accountability and development of sober-living skills.

Dual Diagnosis & Mental Health

If you meet the diagnostic criteria for two or more conditions, you have a dual diagnosis. Massachusetts dual diagnosis treatment is designed to address both conditions simultaneously, for improved recovery outcomes.

Aftercare & Alumni Program

Aftercare rehab in Massachusetts gives you continued access to support after rehab. You may need assistance with job coaching, budgeting, education, or accountability as you re-enter your life. Aftercare programs provide these supports, so you can face challenges and maintain a sober lifestyle long-term.

Inpatient Rehab

As the most intensive treatment setting, inpatient drug rehab in Massachusetts treatment involves 24/7 supervised care. At this level of care, you typically participate in individual, group, and family therapy sessions, and you may receive medication and additional recreational therapies.

Detox & MAT

The first step to a drug-free future is detox. This involves slowly and safely ridding your body of all addictive substances, under 24/7 supervision. This is typically the initial phase of drug rehab in Massachusetts.
