About Southern West Virginia Fellowship Home
Men looking for long term residential support for substance use disorder recovery may be interested in Southern West Virginia Fellowship Home in Beckley, West Virginia. For six to 18 months, you’ll participate in a highly structured recovery and support program rooted in the 12 Steps model and bolstered by education, community service, and other activities.
The program is divided into five separate phases. As you make progress in SUD recovery, you’ll move into higher phases and take on more responsibility and classes.
Recovery in Beckley
Beckley offers a unique opportunity for individuals in recovery to engage with the community through the Tamarack Marketplace. This venue showcases local artists and their creations, offering a deeper glimpse into the area's culture. You’ll meet new people, see local art and experience new things in sobriety.
Personal Recovery Coach
Each resident works with their recovery coach during their stay. The coach works in tandem with a case manager to identify and overcome obstacles encountered on your path to addiction recovery. Unlike a case manager, they also provide personal mentoring based on your unique recovery plan.
The combination of general assistance and personalized help is appealing to me. By default, you’ll meet with your recovery coach twice each month, but you can meet more frequently if that’s what you want. That way, you can get just the right amount of support for you without the need to wait between meetings.
On Site Group Meetings
Something else I appreciate about this program is the inclusion of on site NA and AA meetings. They provide transportation to off site meetings, too, but meetings in the house are a great introduction to this new experience. Plus, it’s a way to keep the residents together as a community, sharing their successes and struggles as they build a support network with one another.
