About Southeast Nassau Guidance Center
Founded in 1958, Southeast Nassau Guidance Center was a nonprofit agency that offered mental health and substance abuse treatment for southeast Nassau County residents. They ran four programs out of their clinic in Seaford, New York. This facility is now closed.
Seaford Chemical Dependency Program
One of the Center’s programs was the Seaford chemical dependency program. Here, they offered many programs and services to treat drug and alcohol addiction. Clients could get outpatient counseling, education and treatment.
They offered therapy for individuals, couples and families as well as group therapy. Groups focused on topics like anger management, relapse prevention, health and wellness and co-occurring disorders.
I like that vocational counseling was also provided to help clients get ahead. Another striking feature in my opinion is that they provided services for significant others and parents.
Folks could also get DWI court assessments and treatment. They also offered this program in Wantagh and Levittown.
Seaford Mental Health Clinic
The Center’s outpatient mental health clinic offered support for many issues like stress, depression, loss and bereavement, suicidal thoughts, fears and phobias and coping with mental illnesses. They provided crisis intervention, medication management, therapy and psychiatric evaluations.
