You’ll participate in structured daily activities that will guide you to achieve abstinence from drugs and help you recover from mental health disorders.

To be considered for enrollment here you’ll need to have symptoms of both substance abuse and mental health disorders. You’ll have to show the willingness to participate and have the potential to progress toward an independent living environment. They do not treat acute medical needs at River Community, so if you have immediate medical needs this isn’t the place for you.

Abstinence is required while you reside at River Community. They use an innovative approach that focuses on hope and recovery. While in the residential program, you’ll attend daily AA or NA meetings in addition to group therapy. You’ll find your voice within the recovery community and create new healthy coping skills.

Life development skills can also enhance your recovery. During treatment sessions you’ll also receive practical information like nutrition skills and housekeeping skills. You’ll also learn how to take care of your finances. Recreational activities like community outings and day trips to amusement parks are regularly scheduled for the residents. You’ll receive a detailed aftercare plan and be connected to transitional living facilities as needed.

Family involvement is encouraged here. Groups that facilitate for loved ones are available at this facility.
