About Sober Living America Jacksonville

Near the banks of the point where Goodby’s Creek meets the St Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida, you’ll find Sober Living America (SLA). Here, they offer Duval County residents access to SLA’s affordable transitional living and drug and alcohol recovery program.

Their premises are made up of 20 apartment style units in one of the most tranquil riverside settings you could imagine. This offers a beautiful spot where adult men and women can further implement their care strategies in a supportive, sober living environment at a low weekly cost.

Robust Residential Care

SLA’s sober living culture is geared toward helping individuals rebuild their lives. In the community, the peer to peer recovery aspect helps you stay accountable and lets you help keep other members of the community on the right track. They also provide counseling, relapse prevention planning and access to on site and off site AA and NA meetings.

One of my favorite aspects of their program is that they also offer career development and life skills training along with freedom to work. Additionally, they provide transportation service to help you get to work or group meetings, understanding that many people who struggle with addiction often don’t have personal transport.

Intensive Treatment for Those Who Need It

What stands out to me about SLA’s program is that it can function both as a continuation of care for those who’ve recently left a residential program as well as a first port of call in the right circumstances. Their Pinnacle Program is a 30 day intensive program where they provide structured counseling sessions.

During this time, they require you not to get outside jobs, allowing you to spend the whole month focused solely on recovery. They have an incredibly well rated program, with one of their most recent reviewers explaining that they helped him get sober, find employment and develop a new sense of purpose.

Benefits of an inpatient program include increased safety, a higher success rate, and the time and distance given to focus on recovery. Each alcohol rehab in Florida offers unique amenities and approaches, but most follow the same general guidelines. Treatment includes detox, rehabilitation, and maintenance. This is a proven approach to provide the greatest results for long-term recovery.

Men's Rehab

Gender-specific addiction treatment gives men who are struggling with substance use disorders a connection point to other men with similar struggles. This common ground can make a huge impact on men’s rehab in Florida.

Women's Rehab

Often, women who have a substance use disorder also have a co-occurring disorder. Women’s rehab in Florida often addresses both the addiction and mental health disorder with dual diagnosis treatment.
