Seven Counties Services Inc

Seven Counties Services East Office is located in Louisville, Kentucky. They specialize in treating children, adolescents, adults and families who are struggling with chemical dependency and mental health conditions.

They were established in 1978 with a mission to provide healing and support for children and families through access to high quality care. They have continued to expand and develop programs to help around 4,000 people a year live life free from chemical dependency.

They offer residential treatment, recovery support housing, counseling and occupational therapy. They also provide medication assisted treatment (MAT) and detox to alleviate the symptoms of withdrawal, and they can connect you with medication management and counseling services as needed.

When receiving treatment it can be hard to open up to others when you feel like no one understands what you’re going through. Seven Counties offers peer support specialists who have personal experiences with addiction and are now living in recovery.

What sticks out to me the most is their voluntary Family Recovery Court program. This program was developed for families who are in the child welfare system and have been deeply impacted by substance abuse. The primary purpose is to help parents develop healthier parenting skills and provide guidance for them to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere at home. It is divided into three phases ranging anywhere between 12 and 18 months. This includes trauma informed care, parenting groups and family team meetings. You can also gain what they identify as “sober bucks,” which is money awarded to you when you participate in sober recreational activities.
