About Seacoast Mental Health Center Fairweather Lodge
Seacoast Mental Health’s Fairweather Lodge is a private, nonprofit residential treatment center in Greenland, New Hampshire. Here, adults with severe and persistent mental and behavioral health challenges can receive 24/7 support in a secure, homelike environment. The center is specifically for people experiencing housing insecurity, and no one is turned away for their inability to pay.
Integrated, Compassionate, Person Centered Treatment
Fairweather Lodge is one of several programs offered by Seacoast Mental Health, a consortium of mental and behavioral health providers serving Eastern Rockingham County. The organization operates on an integrated, person centered care model, which seeks to simultaneously address all the challenges that can co-occur with substance use disorder and other severe mental illness.
In addition to standard alcohol and drug rehab services like medication assisted treatment (MAT) and certified recovery support, Fairweather Lodge residents have access to psychiatric care to help them cope with comorbidities such as depression, trauma, and anxiety, and primary health care for problems like chronic pain. I think that’s fantastic since all these issues can feed into each other and create a vicious cycle.
It’s also reassuring to me that they have a strong track record of success. Nearly all their clients reported having had very positive experiences at Fairweather Lodge and said the staff were very responsive and attentive to their needs. If something in a person’s treatment plan wasn’t working, the team made adjustments to ensure the person got the best possible care.
The Tools You Need For Long Term Wellbeing
Since Fairweather Lodge specializes in supporting people experiencing homelessness, helping people find long term stability is a big part of the program. In addition to counselors, nurses, doctors, and support staff, their team includes housing specialists who help people get vouchers for affordable permanent housing.
Plus, they help discharged residents access crucial services like social security benefits, food stamps, Medicaid, affordable education, and job training. I appreciate that they don’t just leave people to fend for themselves when their time at the house ends. They’re committed to staying connected with people for life and helping them maintain lasting recovery.
