About Sandstone Care Denver Center

Sandstone Care Denver Center is an outpatient drug facility focused on helping teens and young adults overcome substance use. The programs they provide to help include the intensive outpatient program and the partial hospitalization program. You or your loved one will be treated with evidence based practices that address psychological, physical, and social issues related to addiction. I also like that they offer you vocational and academic support to move you forward toward a life free from substances. However, you must have an appointment, and they don’t accept walk-ins.

The facility is just off of I-25 and accessible to multiple cities in the Denver area, such as Lakewood, Aurora and Englewood. Southmoor Park and Hutchinson Park aren’t too far away if you like to unwind and exercise outdoors.

The teen and young adult intensive outpatient program is three to four days a week at the facility for 12 weeks. Sandstone Care also gives you the option of doing this program through telehealth therapy. You’ll participate in individual, family, and group therapy. The services are provided to you in the evening so that you still have time to fulfill your work or school responsibilities.

Staff members are trained to help treat addictions to numerous substances such as alcohol, marijuana, stimulants and opioids. If your conditions are acute, they may refer you to the Colorado Springs Detox Center first.

Clients who are in the partial hospitalization program, also known as day treatment, will receive treatment at the facility five days a week for four weeks. The structured programming is designed to help you stabilize, understand your addiction struggles better, and heal from them.

An additional thing I like about the teen rehab program is that it uses both evidence based and experiential therapies. The evidence based therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and the experiential therapies include physical activities and outdoor adventures. Family members are also trained in mindfulness and bi-weekly therapy so they’ll be with you throughout your recovery.

Sandstone Care has accreditations from notable organizations such as the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers and The Joint Commission. They’re in network with all major health insurance companies.

Art Therapy

Art and music are mediums that connect with our feelings, making them a great recovery tool during addiction t...reatment. Studies show that combining art/music and drug rehab can have a greater therapeutic impact than drug rehab alone, as you’re able to access parts of your brain and body that you may not have access to during traditional talk therapy. Benefits of art/music therapy include lowering stress and anxiety, promoting healthy neurochemicals, and providing stress relief.
