About Samaritan Village Bronx

The Willis Avenue Opioid Treatment Program provides holistic care involving medication-assisted treatment (MAT), outpatient therapy and case management for adults over 18 facing opioid use challenges throughout Bronx County in New York. It is one of two opioid recovery programs operated by Samaritan Daytop Village in the Bronx to support individuals seeking opioid replacement therapy.

This outpatient clinic is located on Willis Avenue in the Bronx’s Mott Haven neighborhood, a short walk east of St. Mary’s Park and about a mile west of St. Ann’s Episcopal Church. It’s fully ADA-compliant and equipped to support clients with mobility challenges to ensure hassle-free access for all. The program is OASAS-licensed and Joint Commission-accredited, reflecting a commitment to high-quality care that satisfies all ethical standards.

I especially appreciate that they accept Medicaid, Medicare and most major insurance plans including those from New York State Medicaid Managed Care providers. This removes financial obstacles, making treatment more accessible.

Methadone and Suboxone Medication For Stability

At Willis Avenue, you may receive methadone or Suboxone through MAT as part of personalized holistic care guided by a detailed intake assessment. This FDA-approved medication helps ease withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings so you can focus on therapy to address underlying trauma or emotional triggers.

Using proven methods like CBT, they equip you with tools to manage anger and stress as you develop effective strategies to prevent relapse. Your tailored plan may even integrate ongoing psychiatric medication management to address co-occurring mental challenges.

Support To Simplify Recovery

Care is delivered in a calm, nonjudgmental setting where your dignity is respected and your recovery is prioritized. Child care is available on-site for parents engaged in treatment services. I even noticed they offer bilingual support in English and Spanish to ensure more culturally appropriate and accessible care.

Also quite appealing is how they strive to fit recovery into your daily routine to enable you to balance work, school or family responsibilities with recovery. They even offer Saturday availability to better accommodate those with tight weekday schedules.
