Based in Virginia, The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Arc Virginia Beach provides professional addiction treatment to adults aged 21 to 65, including pregnant and postpartum individuals, regardless of gender, race, or background. This center uses the Harbor Light program as its main method of treatment. Harbor Light is primarily an intensive inpatient (IP) addiction treatment program used across The Salvation Army’s many drug rehab locations provides a network of support no matter where you go.

The center’s intensive drug rehab unit offers a residential addiction treatment program that lasts 180 days to individuals who have already gone through a detox process and need further support. Addiction education is provided alongside counseling and prep sessions to help clients make the move to independent or semi-independent living. As long as individuals show a willingness to change their behaviors and get clean long-term, they will be welcomed here.

For clients who have completed their inpatient treatment, the center also offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP). This is an option for long-term care that offers flexibility depending on the unique needs of its participants. In this program, clients can access group services like peer support groups and group counseling sessions, as well as individual counseling, and educational opportunities.

Clients can also access employment services through the center’s work therapy and transitional job programs. Through these, they can receive placement assistance and support writing their resumes. Workshops are also held to help clients navigate conflict resolution, appropriate job behaviors, interviews, and other transferable workplace skills.
