About Safe Refuge
Safe Refuge helps underserved people in Long Beach, California get access to programs to help them become self-sufficient. They help with housing for homeless and low income folks as well as counseling and job training.
They have a residential program that gives residents a home-like space to recover from addiction. Stays range from 30 days up to 180 or more if needed. Most clients need to have Medi-Cal to qualify although there are a few exceptions. This residential program is accredited by CARF.
They also offer bridge and transitional housing to help people get on their feet after leaving residential treatment. These safe and sober residences come with some requirements. You must be active in outpatient treatment during your stay and also be employed, in job training or be volunteering in the community.
Clients can get a fully furnished unit in a sober apartment living for six months to a year. They also have long term housing for up to two years for residents who are employed and need more time in this supportive environment.
Their outpatient groups meet at various times during the day as well as on weekends so that everyone can find a time that works best for their schedule.
In these groups, you'll improve your relationships, learn recovery skills and more. Some groups work for offenders who are referred by Long Beach probation or local courts. These groups are led by a trained facilitator. You can get up to one year of outpatient services through Safe Refuge.
