About University Behavioral Health Care at Cherry Hill

Academically based behavioral healthcare is provided at Rutgers Health’s University Behavioral Healthcare at Cherry Hill, New Jersey. You and your family are able to receive behavioral health and addiction services in an outpatient setting.

Medicare among the insurance plans accepted. If you’re uninsured, you will be able to self pay for the services being received.

The general parking area is free of charge. Although you will need to do some walking, the New Jersey transit bus has a stop nearby. Across the center, you will see Colwick Park where you can unwind and exercise. Nearby is a shopping mall, as well as plenty of dine-in and fast food restaurants.

Their acute partial hospitalization program (PHP) is for adults, who are 18 years of age and older. This is a group based, all day program, in which you return home in the evenings to sleep. You’ll receive treatment, support and case management services. I like that you’ll be encouraged to set up goals to be accomplished through daily participation in the program.

Your treatment plan will be individualized based on your unique needs and strengths. An array of therapy programming is offered. Aside from individual and group therapy sessions, you may notice other forms of holistic therapy on your treatment plan. They offer music therapy, art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma treatment.

The form of therapy that stood out to me is their horticultural therapy. This form of therapeutic practice involves gardening and activities related to planting plants. It helps promote your mental, physical and emotional well being.
