About Rio Grande Counseling and Guidance Services

Rio Grande Counseling Services is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They provide outpatient treatment and services for adults and veterans who are struggling with mental health conditions and substance abuse disorders.

Albuquerque is an artistic and culturally diverse city filled with visually captivating architectural buildings. Not only that but they also have gardens, hot air balloons, hiking trails, a zoo, specialty museums, restaurants with tasty cuisines, aquariums, and parks. These make great outings when you’re looking for something fun to do outside of treatment.

For the last two decades, this facility has assisted more than 20,000 adults within the city and surrounding areas to help heal and evaluate others in their journey of recovery.
Therapy creates a safe space for you to vocalize challenging areas that could be impacting your journey of healing. Here, they utilize a multitude of different forms of therapy like motivational interviewing (MI), exposure therapy, eye movement and desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
They also provide family, marriage, and couples therapy. This can be a great way for you and your loved ones to resolve conflict, develop healthier boundaries, and build trust. When dealing with the effects of substance abuse it affects you but also your loved ones as well. Having mediation during therapy and talking through resentments can bring you all closer.
To better assist you during the beginning stages of your recovery, they’ll perform assessments and evaluations. Then, they will create an individualized treatment plan just for you. This is like a road map that breaks down what you will be working on during treatment and what to expect.
Medication management can be provided to help manage your symptoms. Other services that can be provided include referrals, crisis intervention, and connections to community resources like local health clinics, peer support groups, case management and recovery support meetings.
