About Rio Arriba County Substance, Treatment, Outreach and Prevention Program

Rio Arriba County Substance, Treatment, Outreach and Prevention Program is a community program providing drug and alcohol treatment to individuals in Espanola. Services include outpatient drug rehab, mental health assessments, medication assisted treatment (MAT), counseling, DWI programs, prevention services, and referrals.

Designed to reduce the number of alcohol and drug related fatalities in New Mexico, Rio Arriba County provides programs and services throughout the state, in collaboration with multiple departments and government agencies. Services include educational programs and interventions for the residents of Rio Arriba County and a gender specific outpatient treatment program that supports individuals with substance use and mental health problems. Treatments include mental health assessments, therapeutic and educational activities, including individual and group therapy, medication assisted treatment (MAT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family education and support, mindfulness groups, and relapse prevention training. Services also extend to schools in which they provide adolescents with prevention education, and diversion programs for DWI offenders.

The program is funded by multiple grants and is free of charge to participants.
