Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services has clinics in six Tennessee counties. The Roane County Outpatient Clinic is located in Harriman, just down the street from Ridgeview’s Friendship Place peer support center. The clinic offers outpatient mental health and substance use treatment, criminal justice services and recovery support to all ages. They also have school based services for youth.

Starting treatment is simple. You can walk into the Roane County clinic between 8:30 am and 9:30 am Monday through Friday, or 4:30 pm to 5:30pm on Wednesday. I saw that same day services are available, and the clinic accepts Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. They also have financial assistance available.

Outpatient Treatment and School Based Therapy

The Ridgeview clinic can treat mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders. They provide evidence based individual, group and family therapy. They specialize in trauma informed care and have services for children, teens and adults.

What stood out to me is their school based therapy program. They have multiple counseling options available to youth in Roane and other counties. Students Together Advancing Resilience (STAR) delivers counseling services in the school setting, and Amazing Discoveries is a substance use prevention program for at-risk middle and high schoolers.

Recovery Support Services

Ridgeview has a variety of community based recovery programs that function outside the clinic. They provide housing and career support to help you create a stable living situation conducive to recovery.

There’s also a peer support center, Friendship Center, conveniently located down the street from the outpatient clinic at 221 Devonia Street. The Friendship Center offers transportation assistance and coordinates recreational activities, meals and games. They also have computers you can use for work training. All Friendship Center services are free.
