About Rickman’s Recovery Center

Rickman Recovery Centers was a residential and outpatient substance use and mental health treatment facility in Glendora, California that was established in 1983. Clients of all ages and from many counties received care at this facility. They are now permanently closed.

Most major insurance plans were accepted, and self payment options were offered. LGBTQIA+ clients and folks from all walks of life were welcomed. They treated professionals and executives with discreet care that fit into demanding careers without drawing attention.

Residential and Outpatient Care

Residential and day treatment, detox programs and both short and long term outpatient care services were offered. They also arranged extended living and transitional living referrals. I think it was helpful that they worked closely with clients facing legal issues, offering alternative treatment recommendations to courts, employee assistance programs and child protective services.

Quiet Residential Location

They were located in a quiet residential neighborhood, offering a peaceful homelike atmosphere. Clients could relax and connect in modern, comfortable living spaces and communal areas. I noticed that outdoor areas provided space for meditation, yoga and other recreational activities while an onsite chef focused on nutrition.

Nature and Mindfulness Close to Treatment

Nearby South Hills Park provided nature trails perfect for outdoor walks and fresh air. Glendora Village was just a short drive away, offering community events and social outings that encouraged connection and engagement. The San Gabriel Mountains gave clients the chance to participate in supervised hikes and mindfulness sessions in a beautiful natural setting, helping to promote healing and stress relief.

Ongoing Support After Discharge

Clients felt the staff was caring, supportive and knowledgeable, saying they received individual attention and personalized care plans. They said the facility was clean and comfortable, and that treatment was effective and life changing. Alumni further noted that the staff was committed to ongoing support after discharge.
