About Avivo
Avivio is a CARF-accredited nonprofit located in a suburban part of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since 1960, they have provided specialized care to adults and families who are struggling with co-occurring conditions and substance abuse disorders. You’ll benefit from receiving treatment here because they also offer a variety of supportive services including case management, career advancement guidance, and housing placement.
To better assist you, a chemical health assessment will be conducted to provide you with the most appropriate level of care. It will consist of a series of questions relating to your medical background and chemical dependency history.
Their intensive outpatient (IOP) program is available to individuals over the age of 18. Their schedule consists of individual counseling and group therapy treatment sessions within 15-25 hours weekly divided into five days out of the week. What’s so beneficial about their IOP program is how they offer integrative care by treating mental health conditions as well as addiction to help you enhance your quality of life and maintain more stability. Services available include peer recovery support, seeking safety therapy, anger management, health education, and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT).
What caught my eye was their family treatment and recovery program. It can be difficult to work on your recovery while maintaining a supportive atmosphere at home. This program is designed for pregnant women and women with kids who may require more support or guidance to help them heal during a vulnerable time in their lives. Your weekly treatment plan will consist of child development education, family therapy, individual counseling, and parenting classes. If you’re homeless or at-risk, they can assist you with housing placement for you and your children up to the age of 17 during the duration of receiving treatment.
The next block over is Peavey Field Park. It offers some greenspace if being outdoors helps to clear your mind so you can unwind.
