About Broward Health Imperial Point

Broward County offers both medication assisted treatment and intensive outpatients for adults struggling with alcohol or substance use disorder. The Broward Addiction Recovery Center (BARC) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is available for medical detox to help clients safely withdraw from opioids or other addictive substances. Their medication assisted assisted treatment and intensive outpatient services also include counseling for co-occurring mental health disorders.

Outpatient services are available as standalone services. Structured individual and group therapy sessions with family sessions are part of a six to eight week program to support recovery. BARC’s opioid use treatment is a phased program, stepping down from intensive interventions to long term recovery maintenance.

As part of making county wide services available to everyone, BARC aslo has other programs available for intensive residential and specialized treatment. BARC coordinates with community agencies for additional recovery aftercare, like additional mental health treatment and support groups.

BARC’s services are available on a sliding fee scale, which means people experiencing housing insecurity or impacted by poverty can access the treatment they need.

Addiction Treatment Programs

Adult Program

Treatment at an adult program in Florida addresses the needs of each individual as they work toward recovery. Programs are designed for men and women ages 18 and up, and include a variety of treatment protocols to match the severity of the addiction, type of substance, and personal situation.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida helps people in treatment to revisit painful thoughts and memories and learn new ways to cope with them. These newly-learned techniques replace substance use and help the individual maintain sobriety.

Senior Drug & Alcohol Rehab

If you're over the age of 65, elderly rehab in Florida gives you the opportunity to be in a treatment program with your peers. This tends to be helpful for older adults because they can receive mutual support and acceptance from their peers. These programs are specifically designed for seniors.

Teen & Adolescent Program

Young adults often develop addiction for different reasons than older individuals. That’s why a young adult program in Florida focuses on the unique pressures, needs, and challenges faced by young adults.
