About Region 8 A & D Residential
Region 8 Mental Health offers alcohol and drug treatment services (A and D services) in Brandon, Mississippi. They offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP), anger management classes, out of state DUI classes and substance use evaluations. They also have prevention and aftercare for adolescents.
I noticed that they may accept different insurance plans. You’ll have to contact them to find out whether they accept your specific coverage.
A Three Phase IOP in Rankin County
The IOP program is broken down into multiple stages. Phases 1 and 2 include individual and group counseling as well as educational programs. I was impressed that Phase 3, aftercare, lasts for two full years after treatment.
Phase 1 is 10 weeks and includes education about the impact of substance use on your daily life, work, health and family. Region 8 also teaches coping skills and healthy ways to deal with stressors during this stage.
Phase 2 is eight weeks and provides relapse prevention strategies as well as ongoing individual counseling to address the root causes of addiction. Both Phase 1 and 2 meet in the evenings three days a week.
Aftercare services include planning for long term sobriety, ongoing individual and group therapy and family treatment. I like how they also connect you to support groups like 12 Step programs.
