About Red Lake Chemical Health Programs

The Red Lake Nation's Chemical Health Programs give patients the chance to recover from drug and alcohol conditions as well as mental health problems. They help individuals who are at least 16 years old and adults. Their practices are rooted in Anishinaabe culture and philosophies and are meant to strengthen the mind, body, and spirit of every Red Lake Reservation member. You'll find them based in Ponemah, Minnesota.

Traditional and Educational Programs

The counseling sessions they offer include individual counseling, group counseling, and peer support meetings that are conducted on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. There's an educational component to the program, which I liked. They aim to increase awareness and understanding of alcohol and chemical dependency.

Additional Services

They conduct Rule 25 assessments, which evaluate and determine the right level of care for you and even offer case management to make sure you get the necessary services and support you need. They offer mental health referrals too, which can connect you to mental health professionals when you need more support. They also offer relapse prevention that I think is a great addition.

In addition to all this, you get cultural and spiritual support as well as transportation. On every last Thursday of the month, they have a sobriety potluck feast.
