About Rainbow Community Center
Rainbow Community Center is an LGBTQIA2S+ nonprofit community center in Concord, California, offering outpatient mental health services across Contra Costa County.
The center provides individual, relational, and group therapy alongside peer support groups, youth programs and HIV-related services for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, couples and families of all ages.
Its mission centers on community, equity and well-being, creating a culturally humble space where intersectional identities are seen, valued and supported.
LGBTQIA2S+ Affirming Mental Health Care
Rainbow Community Center's core specialty is affirming outpatient therapy for LGBTQIA2S+ communities, including transgender and gender-nonconforming people, BIPOC, elders, youth and immigrants.
Clinicians offer individual, relational and group therapy tailored to the lived experiences of historically marginalized identities.
Sessions focus on creating a safe, validating space to explore identity, relationships and emotional well-being.
The team, I've seen, actively recruits bilingual Spanish/English clinicians, and community testimonials describe the center as life-changing and a vital source of belonging and support.
Peer Support and Community Connection
Beyond clinical therapy, I've found that Rainbow offers in-person and virtual peer and support groups, youth services for ages 11-25, a houseless transitional youth program for ages 12-24, HIV education and prevention and senior programs.
This integrated model connects therapy with broader social support and community resources.
Access, Insurance and Getting Started
Rainbow serves clients in person at its Concord office and via telehealth to anyone residing in California, with weekday drop-in hours available. Please note the center does not provide psychiatry or medication services in-house.
The center accepts Contra Costa Health Plan Medi-Cal and offers a sliding scale fee based on income and dependents for those with other coverage.

The focus will be on restructuring attitudes and thoughts to reduce cravings and develop skills to prevent relapse. The length of time in outpatient rehab varies by individual, based on their recovery needs.

You’ll receive recovery coaching, social support, and mentors to help you maintain sobriety after completing initial rehab treatment.
