About Rainforest Recovery Center (RRC)

Serving the community of Juneau, Alaska, Rainforest Recovery Center was an addiction treatment center for adults. This was a facility with 16 beds that treated men and women using dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) for substance abuse and mental health disorders. This was a safe, tobacco free, and communal living environment with a staff of counselors, case managers, and psychiatrists. Due to decreased funding and insufficient staffing, Bartlett Hospital has decided to close Rainforest Recovery Center in September of 2024.

When they were open, they offered residential addiction treatment based on dialectical behavior therapy. Clinicians, activity therapists, and nurses helped clients walk through mental health support and recovery related psychoeducation. The length of stay varied depending on a person’s individual needs. Practicing coping skills in group and individual sessions would have prepared you to eventually graduate to a lower level of care.

Although this recovery center has closed, Bartlett Hospital still provides inpatient (IP) and outpatient (OP) mental health support and psychiatric services. This includes group, individual, and family therapy sessions. This part of the hospital provides 24 hour emergency mental health assessments. Individualized treatment plans may include dual diagnosis support and medication assisted treatment. Treatment focuses on acceptance and compassion. It’ll provide you with healthy coping techniques and psychoeducation.

People who’ve received treatment at Rainforest Recovery Center said this program saved their life. They also said the staff is genuine and shows they care. Other people mentioned they had a subpar experienced in treatment here.
