About Pyramid Healthcare Tradition Halfway House for Women

Pyramid Healthcare Tradition Halfway House is located in Altoona, Pennsylvania. This CARF accredited halfway house provides supportive housing for women to heal from co-occurring conditions and substance use disorders. This location also offers support for women who have experienced sexual abuse or domestic violence. Residents participate in treatment, engage in volunteering, maintain employment and pursue education. The average stay is 90 days but varies based on individual needs.

What sticks out to me is their focus on nutrition and spirituality. Both of these approaches enhance your quality of life. Nutrition education can help you develop healthier food choices that can boost your energy during this time of transition. Spirituality can help you find strength during times of difficulty in your recovery and encourage you to stay in an attitude of gratitude.

Seeking employment and budgeting can be challenging, especially in the beginning of your recovery journey. They offer job training and employment services to help you get connected to a job of interest to you that is healthy for your recovery. They also offer money management education to help you navigate your finances and maintain steady income.

They offer family programs to help your family heal as well. Their family program provides education on addiction and how to support a loved one who is struggling with substance abuse. The program can provide opportunities to resolve conflict and strengthen your family unit with guidance and mediation by a licensed therapist.

Their individual therapy gives you an opportunity to discuss issues you have been dealing with privately with a therapist. They can help you develop coping skills and manage stress. This can motivate you to move forward and also remind you of the progress and strides you’ve made, even when you’re dealing with struggles of life.

Your group therapy sessions will be with other women who are on the same/similar journey as you. This can provide encouragement that you aren’t alone while also allowing everyone to heal at their own pace. This treatment also includes a relapse prevention class that teaches you to manage triggers and provides resources to help you in your recovery.
