About PLCCA, INC
Proviso Leyden Council for Community Action (PLCCA) is a not for profit community organization that provides a wide range of health, wellness and community support services. They serve Cook County and greater Chicago residents from their location in Maywood, Illinois, just outside of Chicago. While they provide substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, the organization also offers a wide range of behavioral health services for other psychological needs.
Outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment
Depending on how severe your addiction is, attempting to simply quit might be dangerous. I appreciate that PLCCA provides medication assisted treatment (MAT) which helps people safely wean off of substances and avoid the worst of withdrawal symptoms. This is provided on an outpatient basis for adults, and for teens ages 16 to 17 with parental consent.
Intensive Counseling Opportunities
Getting to the root causes of addiction and learning how to reframe mindsets that previously led to substance abuse is critical. I discovered that PLCCA offers a range of counseling services aimed at helping people uncover the triggers for their addiction and how to navigate them in the future. This includes individual, group and family counseling.
Aftercare to Maintain Sobriety
Staying sober is the ultimate goal, and PLCCA provides aftercare to help people achieve that. I appreciate that they provide these ongoing services, which may include continued counseling and community resources.
