About Providence Center
Providence Center Child and Family Services is a mental health and substance use treatment space in Providence, Rhode Island. They serve children, adolescents, and families.
The center offers outpatient counseling, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), partial hospitalization (PHP) for early elementary-aged children and school-based mental health care embedded in Providence Public Schools.
As part of a CARF-accredited behavioral health network founded in 1969, the facility provides full services that address not only mental health and addiction but also food, housing, and other social needs.
Providence Center Child and Family Services Programs
The center provides outpatient individual, group, and family counseling for mental health and substance use disorders. Specialized programs include Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) for at-risk teens ages 12-17, an Early Childhood Institute with IOP and PHP for children kindergarten through second grade.
They also have a program called Healthy Families America, which is a home-based support system for expectant mothers and families with newborns, and 24/7 crisis intervention services.
Care for All Individuals Needing Help
Services are designed for children of all ages, adolescents, and young adults, including those with serious emotional disturbance, co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Families, expectant mothers, and at-risk teens involved with the justice system or experiencing behavioral issues are also cared for with the Providence Center.
Many services are also delivered in the community, at schools, in clients' homes, and via telehealth for maximum accessibility. I've found individuals found these services extremely helpful.
No Refusal Policy for Inability to Pay
A no refusal policy ensures no one is denied care due to inability to pay. I've found the facility also offers a sliding fee schedules based on family size and income.
