About Providence Adolescent

Providence Adolescent is a residential mental health and substance use treatment program in Anchorage, Alaska serving girls ages 12 through 17 at the Providence Alaska Medical Center campus.

With a typical treatment length of 12 months and capacity for up to 10 students at a time, the program offers intensive, long term support for adolescents facing complex emotional trauma, behavioral concerns and substance use challenges.

Providence Adolescent uses a relational model of care that places families at the center of the healing process, integrating weekly family therapy and parent education into every stage of treatment.

Residential Treatment Programs

The Adolescent Residential Treatment Program provides around the clock therapeutic care in a small and structured setting designed to address trauma, mental health disorders and high risk behaviors. I want to note that girls may enter residential treatment after stepping down from inpatient psychiatric care or through referrals from outpatient therapists and probation officers, social workers and other mental health professionals.

Treatment combines individual therapy, group therapy and weekly family sessions to build healthier relationships and coping skills. The multidisciplinary team addresses co-occurring conditions such as anxiety and depression, PTSD and self harm, suicidal ideation and substance use, using trauma informed and evidence based approaches tailored to teens and their families.
