About Project Hospitality Drug and Alcohol Treatment
Based in Staten Island, New York City, Project Hospitality Drug and Alcohol Treatment is designed to advocate for those in need. This includes homeless individuals, as well as those struggling with mental health and addiction. Support is available to adults aged 18 and older, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or sexuality.
Firstly, I really admire the work this center does for its community. What a sanctuary it provides. In terms of the actual treatment they offer, medication assisted treatment is available alongside individual and group therapy. They also offer anger management support and DUI assessments for those who need them.
Their approach to treatment sees clients playing an active role in their own recovery, as they should. I think this a great way to empower individuals who may, for a long while, have been feeling quite disempowered by their addiction or condition. Goals are also frequently adjusted to meet client needs as they progress.
Former clients' opinions are mixed. Some praise how the facility goes above and beyond, and others speak positively of their therapists. Others however say they felt treated like a ‘paycheck’ by the facility or that they were treated rudely.
