ARMT Medical Specialists in San Diego California helped adults through services that include opioid use disorder treatment, alcohol use disorder treatment and assistance with managing withdrawal symptoms. The staff placed their focus on individuals seeking outpatient care who may wish to maintain work, school or family responsibilities during treatment.

The center was there to support both new patients and those seeking to transition away from other forms of medication management. I think it’s great that the program also included telehealth options for virtual visits when appropriate. ARMT Medical Specialists is now closed.

Medication Assisted Treatment in San Diego

To keep patients comfortable, they provided medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol use disorders, including medications such as Suboxone/Buprenorphine and Vivitrol. The clinicians placed an emphasis on ambulatory detox, which allowed patients to get treatment and return home the same day. Medication was combined with counseling where clients would discuss the cause of their addiction and learn effective relapse prevention strategies.

I really liked the testimony from previous patients that highlighted quick access to care and nonjudgmental, compassionate staff. Several mentioned feeling heard and supported throughout their recovery process.

Same Day Appointments and Walk In Availability

The staff tried to be as flexible and understanding as possible with scheduling by offering same day appointments and walk-in availability for urgent needs. The center was located in the East Village area of downtown San Diego and within walking distance to Balboa Park, a major recreational and cultural landmark.
