About Progress Foundation

Located in San Francisco, California, The Progress Foundation focuses on offering individuals mental health resources and trauma counseling in a residential setting. It has had a key role in offering help and support to those in need of mental health attention in the city of San Francisco for more than 50 years. One of the populations that they are most dedicated to serving are individuals experiencing homelessness and those in at-risk situations.

Community Residential Treatment Programs

I found that this foundation particularly seeks to provide safe and stable housing options through its Community Residential Treatment Programs (CRTPs). Its focus is on giving those vulnerable populations a chance to turn their lives around through counseling and connections with community outreach programs while living in a nurturing environment. The program is all-inclusive and culturally sensitive to the many different backgrounds and ethnicities found in San Francisco.

A Focus on Shared Living Environments

The program connects individuals to wellness and mental health centers while offering 24/7 supervision and care in structured residences with well trained staff. These community homes create a sense of bonding and peer support for the residents, while offering them a unique care plan depending on their individual situation, needs and goals.

I really like the stability that this program offers individuals and the deep roots it has with San Francisco. It offers those in need a unique opportunity to receive psychosocial support in a home like environment and get a new take on life.
