About Professional Counseling
Professional Counseling Services’ McAlester location is a substance use disorder treatment organization that provides detoxification and outpatient care for Oklahomans struggling with addiction. Along with those services, this facility also works in conjunction with the state judicial system if you’re referred for clinical services as a part of a court mandated result. You can also access aftercare support to maintain your sobriety.
Medication Assisted Treatment in McAlester
If you’re in active addiction, I like that they provide medical detoxification for people struggling with addiction to alcohol, benzodiazepines, and even opioids. However, you’ll still have access to counseling and services to help you learn how to avoid turning to substances in the future.
More importantly, medication assisted treatment (MAT) is provided on an outpatient basis so you can continue with life while in recovery. For instance, between sessions, you can visit Chadick Park to unwind or head toward the McAlester Arboretum or Krebs Heritage Museum to pick up new interests and learn about local history.
Outpatient Care Options
I think outpatient care is an effective way for you to achieve sobriety and learn the necessary skills required to avoid relapse. Along with MAT or dual diagnosis support, you can take advantage of a variety of therapeutic approaches. This includes individual, group, or family courses along with specific approaches such as CBT, trauma informed counseling, other evidence based therapies, and even support in building a relapse prevention plan.
Note that dual diagnosis treatment can also include medication management if you need it. They accept most insurance plans alongside TRICARE and Medicaid as well as state financed health plans. However, there are also self pay options for individuals that don’t have insurance.
