About POWER Halfway House
POWER provides addiction services for women in various locations. In their Pittsburg, Pennsylvania location they run a halfway house. Here, women enjoy a sober and supportive space to heal. This home is staffed 24/7.
POWER's halfway home will include a mix of therapeutic exercises and events. You’ll learn important life skills and try expressive art therapy. Individual and group therapy are an important part of your recovery. What I really like about this recovery home is that each woman gets a private bedroom and bathroom. The house also has a shared common area that has a children’s play area.
A big part of healing and recovery will come from the one-on-one connections with other residents. You’ll socialize and enjoy meals and be around others who understand what you’ve been through. I like that the POWER House team includes a resource coordinator. This person helps you with school, jobs, and housing. They also work closely with The Squirrel Hill Health Center. You can go here for medical attention as well as meds to help ease cravings.
