About Polish American Association

The Polish American Association (PAA) located in Chicago, Illinois, is dedicated to providing services to Polish and other immigrant communities. They were founded in 1922. Here you can find five departments such as clinical services, education, and supportive services that strive to be inclusive and supportive on your treatment journey.

Substance Use Service in Chicago

The Starting Point program offers outpatient and intensive outpatient services to Polish speaking individuals who are struggling with substance use. Individuals range from young adults to seniors. Relapse prevention, anger management, and motivational incentives are a few examples of treatment tools that are offered. Telehealth and telemedicine are also available for more accessible care.

Community Care For You

PAA also believes in providing care outside the clinical setting and in your home and community. Resources offered are the Food Pantry, Clothing Closet, and a Home Care program to help seniors stay in their homes.

The Immigrant Family Resource Program is committed to serving Polish speaking individuals with available services. These can look like bilingual counseling services, food stamps, and aid to the aged, blind, and disabled.

Recreational Activities to Include in Your Care

Whether receiving clinical services, or services at home, there are also recreational activities to include into your treatment. For being immersed into nature, Portage Park is just around the corner. You can go on nature walks, bike rides, and in the summertime, there is a pool. Portage Theatre is also an option to sit back, relax, and watch a good movie.
