Phoenix House of Texas–Houston Counseling Center is an outpatient mental and behavioral health care facility for adolescents and adults in Houston, Texas. They are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit specializing in addiction education and prevention, community based services, and intensive outpatient (IOP), general outpatient (OP), and aftercare programming, including dedicated services for young adults and persons with co-occurring addiction and mental illness.
Clients receive medical and mental health assessments and personalized care planning. They also engage in intensive individual, group, and family counseling drawing on proven modalities, including CBT. The program promotes clients’ sustained sobriety through robust, recovery focused life skills training addressing topics such as coping, self care, wellness, emotional regulation, anger and stress management, and relapse prevention. Their holistic treatment model encompasses a wide array of evidence based complementary therapies to support whole person healing.
Their aftercare services ensure a complete continuum of care and may include step down support, academic and vocational training, and referrals for medical, mental health, and social service programs. They are CARF accredited. Payment options include private insurance, Medicaid, financial aid, and self pay.
