About Peace Valley Counseling Center
Peace Valley Counseling Center in Charleston, West Virginia, is near the Kanawha River. It’s owned and operated by Jody M. Hensley. Ms. Hensley has been counseling for 23 years and is a certified counselor in West Virginia. Clients toddler age and older are accepted.
The center accepts Medicaid and CHIP insurance programs. Counseling for the center is only available online. Online counseling is beneficial for those with busy lives, no transportation, or in rural areas where treatment is not available nearby.
Behavioral Counseling
If you prefer a faith based experience, the center can provide you with Christian counseling. In addition to individual counseling, family and marital counseling is available. Other therapies include eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), structural family, and trauma focused.
Substance Use and Co-occurring Treatment
Addictions treated include substance use disorders, sexual addictions, eating disorders, gambling addiction, internet addiction, and video game addiction. In addition to treatment for substance use disorders, clients may also be treated for co-occurring mental health conditions.
Counseling is provided for members of the LGBTQ+ community. Many people have thoughts that cause interruptions and difficulties in our lives. I’m glad the center treats OCD, self esteem issues, sleep issues, and other thinking disorders.
Many other disorders and emotional issues are treated at the center. The center specializes in behavioral issues, anxiety, trauma, and PTSD.
