About Payne County Drug Court
Payne County Drug Court in Stillwater, Oklahoma, offers outpatient substance abuse treatment as an alternative to incarceration. Only folks in the court system are eligible for this program. It’s a great tool to help you get back on your feet after a life of addiction. They create a welcoming space where you can receive personalized treatment for substance use with or without dual diagnosis mental health issues.
They offer both felony and misdemeanor drug court programs. These programs provide a supportive and structured setting for folks struggling with substance use disorder (SUD). They aim to empower you to reclaim your life and build a brighter future. This is achieved through personalized treatment plans, regular drug testing, counseling and support services. I like that they offer not just a tool for legal accountability but a holistic path to rehabilitation.
You’ll be granted access to a range of treatment resources including individual and group counseling, educational workshops and vocational training. These are tailored to meet your unique recovery needs. You’ll benefit from the support of outstanding professionals who’ll help you make positive changes, build healthier habits and find your way back into the community.
The felony drug court is a 13 month program, and the misdemeanor drug court is an eight month program. Both involve a relatively similar five phase recovery process focusing on helping you reintegrate into the community as a productive individual free from drugs.
The programs begin with assessments and early recovery work including counseling, self help groups and court appearances. You’ll build life skills, learn relapse prevention techniques and work on emotional regulation as you progress. Later phases emphasize creating healthy relationships and continuing therapy while maintaining accountability through regular check ins and drug testing. An optional aftercare phase supports successful transition with evaluations and graduation ensuring lasting stability.
The felony drug court program adds an extra focus on lasting accountability and reintegration via community projects and monthly court appearances in the last phase. Aftercare is also more structured and involves three to six follow up appointments. Both programs also include referrals for urinalysis or hair follicle drug testing, anger management training and ADSAC services.
I appreciate that case management is an integral component of the programs as well. Your case manager will guide you through the recovery process and follow your progress to ensure you stay on track. They can also connect you to essential community resources like transitional housing and employment assistance. I think this extra support is important, since these are the things that can be vital as you reintegrate into the community.
