About Pathways Community Mental Health

Based in Escanaba, Michigan, Pathways Community Mental Health in Delta County is one of four of the organization’s facilities. As an accredited provider of community-based mental health services, they offer support to clients of all ages and genders, including dual-diagnosis individuals. Medicaid, Medicare, and children’s health insurance options are accepted here.

Feedback from former clients regarding care at this facility is mixed, with some describing the staff as professional, caring, and understanding. Others express that it’s clear the facility does its best with the limited help provided by the state.

As well as mental health services, this center also provides outpatient addiction treatment and crisis services. As is standard, clients undergo a substance use disorder screening, as well as psychological and psychiatric testing before beginning treatment. This way, the team can better understand their behavioral needs. After this, they will work with staff to develop an individualized treatment plan.

Depending on individual needs, some clients may be prescribed medication to help manage any uncomfortable physical symptoms they may be experiencing, like withdrawal symptoms, or strong cravings. Regular medication reviews take place to keep prescriptions up-to-date wit clients’ changing needs.

Meanwhile, clients can also access peer specialist services on a drop-in basis. These are particularly helpful for supporting individuals with more general support, for things like food, clothing, social support, and housing. Clients can also access integrated career support and skill-building services, like training, and help finding stable work.

More specialized services may include autism-related services for clients under 21 years of age who are on the spectrum. Jail diversion is also available to delay incarceration by prioritizing mental and behavioral health services for clients who may benefit.
