About Prevention and Recovery Center (PaRC): Houston Drug and Alcohol Rehab

PaRC, short for Prevention and Recovery Center, is a drug and alcohol rehab center located in Houston, Texas. The organization has been providing addiction treatment services to adults and trained professionals since the 1990s. There’s a special track for teens. They offer residential and intensive outpatient programs with services such as counseling and chemical dependency education.

One thing that stands out about the facility is they have numerous accreditations and awards for their addiction recovery work, including an accreditation from The Joint Commission.

Before you begin your program, you’ll be evaluated to determine if you need detoxification services. Their drug rehab programs offer addiction recovery treatment for adults. Residential care can last up to 90 days and includes equine therapy, acupuncture, music therapy, and customized nutrition programs.

In their outpatient track, you’ll participate in classes four days a week and three hours a day and outpatient groups that last about four to six weeks. PaRC will do its best to accommodate your schedule. You have the convenience of doing your treatment in the day or the evening. Some of the services you’ll receive include relapse prevention, 12 Steps, and discharge planning.

One thing that I like about this location is that they have a one year aftercare program available when you complete your treatment. There’s no additional cost to participate in this program. You will attend relapse prevention meetings three times a week. The relapse prevention meetings are facilitated by a PaRC alumnus who’s been trained in cognitive behavioral methods. As part of a group, you’ll discuss different topics such as triggers, coping skills, and relapse warning signs.

Additionally, the alumni association allows you to stay connected to your peers who’ve completed treatment. As a member of the group, you’ll get to attend events such as retreats, BBQs, and holiday events.

Houston has a lot to offer when it comes to attractions, such as the Houston Museum of Natural Science and the Space Center. It’s also an hour away from Galveston, where you can spend time relaxing on the beach. Or, Campbell Road Sports Park is near the center and you can exercise and unwind while clearing your mind.
