About Palmetto Addiction Recovery Center

Palmetto Addiction Recovery Center in Monroe, Louisiana is one of seven separate addiction treatment locations run by Palmetto. Support is available to adults and families of all ages, regardless of gender, race, or background. They accept most insurance to make their treatment as accessible and affordable as possible.

The primary care program for addiction treatment at this location is intensive outpatient (IOP). This program is also suitable for individuals with concurrent mental health issues. As part of this program clients can expect to learn about the disease model of addiction, how it progresses, how to identify what stage they’re at in this model, how to cope with triggers that may lead to cravings and how to prevent a relapse. They will also be introduced to the 12-step model of recovery.

Palmetto’s IOP is recommended for individuals who might benefit from a high level of care, without the 24/7 monitoring and attention of a residential program. An ideal candidate for this program likely identifies as relatively stable both medically and psychologically, enough that they feel comfortable living independently while taking part in the recovery process.

Equally, this program may also be a good option for individuals with families and childcare commitments, work or educational obligations that would make inpatient inconvenient. This program is flexible enough for clients to manage their other responsibilities while committing to their recovery for up to three hours per day, three days a week. Meetings typically take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The length of time clients spend on the program varies depending on their personal situation but most tend to take part in IOP for around three to four months. No cost assessments are also available for this program.
