About PDAP of Ventura County

Palmer Drug Abuse Program (PDAP) is a nonprofit organization that offers outpatient addiction and mental health treatment services for teens. The treatment facility is in Camarillo, California, conveniently located near the 101. The facility accepts private insurance plans, Medicaid, and self pay.

Unique Substance Use Disorder Treatment for Adolescents

Camarillo is in the Pleasant Valley, south of the Santa Susana Mountains. There is a charming Old Town district with lots of outdoor activities and nearby access to Point Mugu Beach.

Many of the teens who come to this outpatient program are high risk due to trauma. Some of them have been removed from their homes due to neglect or abuse.

The counselors at this facility are sensitive to the teens and work to make them feel safe and seen. They encourage the kids to share whatever they’re thinking, and give them the tools they need to help them move away from high risk drug and alcohol use behaviors.

On Campus Mental Health Support

One of the things I like about this program is the on campus mental health support for teens. The organization has contracts with several local school districts, and they send counselors to the middle and high schools. Teens meet regularly with the counselors while they’re on campus, and I like the convenience that affords families and teens.

I think it’s great that this provides ongoing intervention throughout the teens’ school year, which is often impactful in convincing these young students to stop using drugs and alcohol. Additionally, the program helps these teens improve their schoolwork and classroom behavior. They function better both in and out of school as the program fosters better lifestyle choices.

Some high risk youth are referred to the program by teachers, juvenile probation officers, parents, school counselors, and group homes. Certified Addiction Treatment Specialists also facilitate group sessions that combine educational data with discussion about personal experiences regarding the harm drugs and alcohol have caused in their lives. The counselors work to ensure each youth participates in the program for at least six months.

Addiction Treatment Programs

Teen & Adolescent Program

Typically, a young adult program in California can guide individuals from detox, through initial treatment, and extends to aftercare. Treatment gives young adults what they need to reset their lives and move to the next stage of life free from addiction.

Alcoholism

Alcohol rehab in California provides professional treatment to guide participants through each step of recovery. Programs offer a support system to walk you through challenges and celebrate victories with you, from detox to long-term sobriety.

Men's Rehab

Gender-specific addiction treatment programs may be more effective in treating men because they focus on unique needs of males. Men’s rehab in California is designed to help men process emotions and cope with stress in a judgment-free environment.

Women's Rehab

Women’s rehab in California provides a safe environment where women can work through addiction challenges surrounded by their gender peers. This often creates an environment that is more conducive to recovery.

Drug Rehab

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

When a person is struggling with addiction, their actions and emotions may not be rational. Cognitive behavioral therapy in California helps individuals understand better why they feel and act certain ways and how those emotions and actions can lead to substance abuse.

Levels of Care

Outpatient Rehab

When you choose outpatient rehab in California, you will meet with a counselor and attend support group meetings. The focus will be on restructuring attitudes and thoughts to reduce cravings and develop skills to prevent relapse. The length of time in outpatient rehab varies by individual, based on their recovery needs.

Dual Diagnosis & Mental Health

When you have a co-occurring disorder, it is essential to treat both your addiction and the mental health disorder. California dual diagnosis treatment provides this type of multidisciplinary approach, for improved recovery outcomes.

Inpatient Rehab

Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient rehab in California reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program’s design.

Detox & MAT

When you enter drug rehab in California, detox is the first step towards becoming drug-free. The detox process includes 24/7 monitoring and medical care and may include the use of medications to ease withdrawal symptoms.

Payment Options

Self-Pay Options

There are a number of self-pay options available for alcohol and drug rehab in California. If you can’t afford to write a check for the full cost of inpatient or outpatient treatment, personal and medical loans offer alternate ways of financing.

Private Insurance

As a California resident with private rehab insurance, you can use your coverage to help pay for alcohol and drug addiction treatment. You may be asked to pay some costs like a co-payment or co-insurance. Check with your insurer for more information.

Medicaid Accepted

If you’re an in-state resident and eligible for Medicaid, you can use your coverage to assist with the cost of alcohol and drug rehab in California. Medicaid can help cover all levels of care, including detox in California, inpatient rehab in California, and more.

Financial Aid

If you need help paying for alcohol and drug rehab, financial aid may be an option for you. Financial assistance options include grants, scholarships, non-profit programs, personal funding, and health insurance programs to help you manage the expense of substance abuse treatment.

Sliding Scale Payment

If you’re ready to enter a drug rehab program in California, but you cannot afford to pay the full amount, a sliding scale payment plan may be the solution for you. This option asks you to make payments in an amount you can reasonably afford on a consistent basis. To qualify for this discount, you must complete an application and provide supporting financial documentation.

Free Rehab

Most states offer free alcohol and drug rehabs through public mental health and addiction treatment centers. These centers often provide detox, intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), residential treatment, partial hospitalization programs (PHPs), and support groups. You must meet certain requirements in order to qualify for free alcohol and drug rehabs, such as lack of income and insurance.
