About Palmer

Palmer Addiction Recovery Services in Tulsa, Oklahoma, offers help and hope to men, women and children. The program began when a young couple moved from Texas and wanted to continue their counseling in Tulsa. They've been a nonprofit agency since 1981. This center is intended for outpatient care, but there’s an inpatient program for women and moms with kids that’s also in Tulsa.

They accept most major insurance providers in Oklahoma and gladly take Medicaid and traditional Medicare. I’m glad they don't discriminate based on your ability to pay and crisis and referral services are always available.

Goal to Remove Barriers to Care

The outpatient treatment program is available to children through seniors and is designed to remove barriers to treatment. These issues might include a lack of insurance, limited access to culturally responsible services or financial hardship. I saw that they believe family involvement is a key component and flexible programming is available to meet your needs.

Their school based youth prevention and intervention program is offered to 6th through 12th grade students to address the root causes of addiction. They use an evidence based curriculum to help students address trauma, instability or chronic stress.

Supporting Underserved or High Need Populations

If you’re an adult woman and need more acute care, an inpatient program is available. In 2003, Palmer expanded to build a residential treatment center to house up to 52 women, specializing in mother childcare.
