Personalized Treatment Plans for Co Occurring Disorders

Clients will have a full assessment including a physical when they come in to determine the level of care they need. This location has outpatient day treatment programs but the company has inpatient facilities too that they can refer you to if needed. Some people come in for outpatient treatment as often as 5 to 7 days a week. Adult clients may live at an adjacent home managed by the company while in treatment.

You will have both group and individual therapy. Groups cover a variety of topics and they are always age specific. The main goal of therapy is for you to develop a better relationship with food.

Treating Eating Disorders and Addiction Together

People with eating disorders often take addictive substances like heroin or methamphetamine to curb their appetite. I like that this facility offers 12-step sessions for substance abuse.

The therapists here use a technique called cognitive processing therapy which is often used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder. It helps people reprocess traumatic memories that lead to destructive behavior. I think this is an excellent treatment for people who use substances to self-medicate or for those whose eating disorder is a result of trauma.
