The Oklahoma County Crisis Intervention Center provides emergency substance abuse and mental health services for adults 18 and older in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They have a 16 bed short term unit for those who need urgent stabilization treatment.
The goal of crisis intervention is to help you transition back into your local community. Crisis stabilization services provide local communities access to substance use and mental health treatment. They offer emergency help for walk ins and police drop offs as well as ambulances and self referrals. They include trauma informed care that addresses the individual needs of each guest with compassion and respect. The team gets to work immediately to help you feel better and prepare for the next step after stabilization.
They partner with local Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics and residential substance abuse centers throughout Oklahoma. This collaboration helps with care coordination within the community, no matter which level of care is needed.
The center uses a multidisciplinary approach, with physicians, nurse practitioners, and care managers working together to ensure you get the treatment needed for stabilization. Most guests are in this unit for 5 to 7 days.
They begin discharge planning services immediately after your intake so everything is in place for you to transition to the next level of care. That may mean housing, outpatient providers, additional rehab, and therapeutic resources. You may start medication to help with your symptoms and stabilization.
You will speak to a therapist to determine your unique needs. The center will provide time and observation where you can rest, shower, and eat. Afterward, you will see a physician to decide if you can be discharged.
